But that broom sweeps both ways, If the complainer HAS been out of line, and deserves to get a sound "spanking", they know that by escalating the stakes, they better have clean hands if they expect to prevail. I've had "disgruntled" customers who decided to get cute and try to go over my head, and had my supervisor get even more twisted than I had been after the whole story was known.
