Metra ran right through my backyard (literally) when I was growing up in Hometown, Illinois. Metra runs on the NS line from Joliet (possibly expanding further south to Manhattan, IL) all the way to Union Station. Its a double track mainline that seldom sees freight traffic now a days. THe line also crosses the old Grand Trunk (now CN) at Pulaski Rd. and 83rd St. The trains are stored at the Orland Park station on sidings. But, its been a long time since I have seen them in action as I am in the Air Force and no longer live there. But, Im happy to say that I own a Walthers Metra F40PH with Village of Worth printed under the side windows!!! (Worth is right by my old house). ALso, being that Im stationed in Southern Illinois, I also get to see my favorite railroad, the Norfolk Southern!! Thats all I have. Hopefully this was of some help to you.

Matt
