I understand the Lake Powell and Black Mesa, a landlocked RR, uses 50,000 volts (?), hauls very heavy coal trains at a moderate speed. <br /> <br />With that kind of voltage, does it have to be AC? 'Cuz if AC motors are getting more efficient the way AC diesel-electrics are, that would be one more reason to prefer AC. <br /> <br />
