Tell us why they chose to stay. You admit some couldn’t get out, maybe. That implies the rest chose to stay. Explain that please.
[/quote]

I would think for a few reasons, some felt the storm wasn't going to be that bad, others may have wanted to not leave their possesions, the element I am referring to, the looters was hoping and waiting to see everyone leave, probably betting on any law enforcement to be pretty scarce also. This way they could raid drug stores for any narcotics, pharmacies are a virtual Walmart for dopers, they saw the chance coming to get all that cool electronics stuff, I am also going to bet the also didn't think it would be so bad that they got stranded, later I would imagine they felt they could grab a car and be on the way, also I don't remember where, but someone stated on some news network that this was also the looters, remember some weren't just men, there were kids and women also "STEALING" non-essential items required to survive, I guess I could allow a $100+ pair of Nikes so that all that walking they planned on their feet wouldn't hurt, but back to my point, someone stated this was the poormans chance to get what he deserves since they have been denied/held back from all the luxuries that those with money had. I wish i could remember the network/person that stated this outragous comment.

If you have been reading the thread, there is no "coy" to my statement, I have said many times as well as others why some of the "turds" wanted to stay. You should read the post that "edblysard" posted on the Mayor of New Orleans requests haste-People to write letters. topic; Link here > http://www.trains.com/community/forum/topic.asp?page=2&TOPIC_ID=44403

Surely you don't think every person in New Orleans is "stranded" because we left them. Or that all that stayed couldn't get out. That to me would be "coy"
