We have a *istDS that's about a month old. The lens mount is a KAF bayonet and it was supplied with a KAF2 18-55 mm zoom lens. The manual indicates it can use, among others, KAF and KAF2 lenses, but there is no power zoom option available on the camera (so you have to manually zoom any power zoom lenses).

It also has the ability to be used with an aperture ring, although we have not done that yet.

Up to now, this has been an excellent camera, used for scientific work. Accommodates 52 mm screw-on closeup lenses and Sunpak professional ring flash units. We have run full automatic and full manual with excellent results (it also will do both aperture and shutter priority). Resolution at 6.1 mp is excellent.

Hope this helps.
