I saw WOTW again today, and i have to agree with whoever said it was a F59PHI and a Talgo trainset....but i am not exactly sure it was a Talgo trainset. the train appeared to be consisted of superliners to me.

As far as me stating it was a P42 the first time, I was totally shocked there was a train out of control in the first place, and all i saw was a modern, streamlined locomotive.

which opens another can of worms. being that the loco was a F59PHI in leiu of a P42, does that in itself make it possible that the train would run without a crew for a while, on fire as it was?

(this is the part where an engineer with EMD experience comes in!!!)

Now, i do know that this movie is make believe, but i also believe that if aliens do come from another world, they are going to be angry for what we have done on this earth all by ourselves. WWI, WWIII, Vietnam, Korea, Afghanistan, Gulf I, Gulf II, the civil war, and all of t6he other wars i have not mentioned come to mind. if humans are capable of doing those knids of thing to ourselves, what do you think we are going to do to other life in the universe?
