Not like all the automobile fans and such. We dare to be different and WE appreciate the finer things in life. And remember, when someone looks at You like you are insane because You like trains, ask them..."how is it different from straining ones neck at an air show?..or watching race cars mindlessly go in circles for 500 miles?" I rest my case.
He's got a good point. My friends often think i'm crazy. But when a person is just obsessed with football or airplanes how's that different?[?][?][?]
We should be proud[^][^][:p][:)][:D]
I definetly agree with that. I didn't actually mean I don't know any other railfans, I know a lot! What I meant was that I don't know any other railfans my own age. Alaksaman, I know exactly what you mean. My friends and peers think I'm crazy too. Some seem to think that there's something wrong with a 17 year old who gets excited watching a train go by and still "plays with toy trains", but I consider being a railfan to be a lot more intelligent than many of the activities other people my age get involved in (and get in trouble for, for that matter). Around here hockey is the big thing. A great deal of people I know are obsessed with hockey, but I don't have the slightest interest in it at all. Oh well. They just don't know what they're missing. In kindergarten you could see the CP line from the window and whenever a train went by I would run to the window while the other kids would give me strange looks. How kids have changed! The high school is on the other side of town and from a couple rooms you can see the railroad as well. Of course I don't run to the window when a train goes by (as tempting as it is), but I still turn my head to see what's going through town!
