She operates at the Tennesse Valley Railroad Museum.

No offense intended, but NEVER, NEVER, refer to a steam locomotive as a "unit". That is a term coined in the diesel age.

....That engine used to stop here in Indiana during N S's steam program and it was a beauty. Got to look all over it and photograph it as well here when it was under steam. A great painting of it can be found in the latest TRAINS magazine depicting it in it's work status years ago.

At last report, she was out of service due to boiler problems.The cost of repair was too great for the museum to pay, therefore she's in semi-retirement. She's at the Tennessee Valley Railroad Museum, in Chattanooga,TN.

Go to www.tvrail.com museums website.I got a cab ride last year on #610 and the crew said more than anything else 4501 is more engine than they need in day to day ops.The 610 is much more economicle to operate.
