Part locomotive, part railroad coach, part subway. <br />I remember the first time I saw a photo of an IND R-9 subway car. I thought that in New York they ran IC suburban cars in the subway. It was those same pantograph safety gates that I recognized. <br /> <br />Jay...Oy, You sold the watch? Ya know how much they're going for on eBay? It seems a lot of IC men carried Waltham watches. My uncle did. He said the company jeweler, underneath the main line, next to the 63rd Street station always had them in stock. I always would compare watches with the train and enginemen and I remember a lot of Walthams, a whole bunch of Hamiltons, and a sprinkling of Illinois. <br /> <br />Mitch
