Greetings Everyone,
I have a friend who is going to visit Ausrtailia and New Zealand,he wants to purchase model trains from the area..Can anyone here give me some places he can go to buy them..He will be visiting Melborne,Sidney,Alice Springs,Darwin,Adelaide,Perth...Any stores or hobby shops in these cities would be appreicated...Thanks,Videomaker

lo lo videomaker... shops i would recomend ... victoria.... train world, east brighton, new south wales ( sydney ) casula hobbies ...liverpool, ....also a very good shop is toms hobbies west ryde (sydney ) i would sugest that he contact the n m r a branch for each area...sydney branch is very good... tell him to send me an email and i can respond better.. ... Q...... when is he coming to australia, .. i may be able to send him a copy of the local model train magazine ( lists all shops ) also tell him to remember that australia is a very big country and i would suggest that he concentrate on one area first.. for example queensland where i live so much to see here dont rush it..... if he is coming in our summer ( your winter ) some places are a little too hot and it is uncomfortable to travel around the top end ( darwin )....... ps did you find the coalmine info helpfull ....peter

Nice to hear from you ,and thanks for your info on the coal mine ops..Im going w/the large loop when I start it and I'll buy an oil supply depot for the out bldgs..My friend will be coming in your summer in Feb.(Here )I think..I will give him the info on the hobby shops..They are going to be staying for 6wks and seeing the whole country n.s,e,w.by rail..I wish I could go to ! They are also seeing part of it by sea cruise,then fly home from New Zealand the way he talks..Thanks Again, Keep in touch, Danny
