BNSFKLine Resumes Railfan Activites
Posted by bnsfkline on Saturday, August 20, 2005 2:38 PM
Earlier this week, Jim Tiroch suspeded his railfan activites due to high gas prices and a gas guzzler car. Now, with great enthusiasm, he is resuming his activites with a new vehical. His mother gave him her 1999 Chevy Tracker V4 SUV (about 26 MPG)

In other news......His other car was sold in RECORD time. He put the "For Sale" Sign in the window, and with in 10 minutes....the car was sold.

Looks like I will be doing more railfanning now!

What did ya sell it for?
"There is nothing in life that compares with running a locomotive at 80-plus mph with the windows open, the traction motors screaming, the air horns fighting the rush of incoming air to make any sound at all, automobiles on adjacent highways trying and failing to catch up with you, and the unmistakable presence of raw power. You ride with fear in the pit of your stomach knowing you do not really have control of this beast." - D.C. Battle [Trains 10/2002 issue, p74.]

I worked on the brkmns extra bd at WQuincy in Feb 2002 when I was booming around on BNSF. I enjoyed my stay there & the dudes I worked with. Regardless if it was getting called south to St.Louis or north to Burlington, running along the west bank of the Mississippi was the most beautiful scene I have come across while railroading. Would have stayed there but wasn't making enough money. Really having no regrets about transferring away but like I said I really enjoyed that part of the country during my brief stay

Great I thought you were looking for donations so that you could continue your railfan watching. [:o)][:p][:)]
