Longest - UP's 4-8-8-4 <br />Heaviest - C&O 2-6-6-6 (first series), 778,000 pounds (6,000 more than Big Boy) <br />Highest Boiler Horsepower - PRR Q2 4-4-6-4 - 8,000 <br />Highest Drawbar Horsepower - C&O 2-6-6-6 - 7,498 <br />Highest Rated Tractive Effort - VGN 2-8-8-8-4 - 199,000 pounds <br />Highest Achievable Tractive Effort - VGN 2-10-10-2 - 176,000 pounds <br />N&W's Turbine, mentioned in one earlier post, achieved 199,000 pounds tractive effort on an actual test, at 1 MPH.
