More Narrow Gauge Cars Produced
Posted by bbrant on Friday, March 25, 2005 8:16 AM
Thought I'd post this in case anyone is interested. On Wednesday morning of this week I saw more brand new narrow gauge hoppers being transported (via CSX) from Freightcar America. Still not certain where they're destined for but was able to see "DLTD" lettering on the side of them.

I was hoping to get some pictures of them in Rockwood on the CSX S&C Branch but they were already sent down the Keystone Sub. The good news is a train that will be heading to Johnstown was sitting just outside of Rockwood with a string of bulkhead flat cars so it looks as if more narrow gauge hoppers will be shipped soon.

Looks like the new ties & rails have been put in place where the derailment. They have a tie placed across the rails to keep the siding from being used right now. Hopefully once all the work is done they'll put it to use again and, with a lot of luck, they'll have a train of the new narrow gauge hoppers sitting on it!! So far they have managed to elude me & my camera!

Have a good Easter!
