Guess who I met this weekend!
Posted by Willy2 on Sunday, March 20, 2005 7:06 PM
If you guessed Mookie, you're right.

I went down to Lincoln with my mom and dad to a weather symposium and decided to meet Mookie at a restaurant called Grandmothers. The symposium was great, but the highlight of the day was meeting Mook. She is the nicest person I've met![8D]

We had a great time and Mookie even gave me a book called The History of North American Rail. A big thanks to Mookie for that! I'm really enjoying the book and will probably have some questions for you guys before too long.

On Monday, I'm sure Mookie will probably have more details. [;)][8D]

I think its way cool.

I never met any other railfans when I was younger. But now in the computer age it is so easy to connect with other railfans. That is one of the great things that happens thanks to forums like this one.

Willy2,
If you're a fellow WX nut, I'd like to converse (if you're interested).

[:I] Mookie is blushing!

Had a great dinner with "the family". Super nice parents and super neat young man!

Had such a nice visit with them - hope they come back to Lincoln very soon. I keep telling myself I really need to get up to Omaha area. Will do so one of these days!

Keep Willy's name in mind - this young man will be a future mover and shaker in the world! And maybe he can do a little something about this silly weather in Nebraska!

Gee - I'll have to put together a storm chasing trip and a visit to Lincoln so I can catch up on that wacky weather and meet Ms La Mook. Been a long time since I experienced one of those OK-style thunderstorms...

Ms Mook should be getting a commission from the Chamber of Commerce for attracting all these tourists to Lincoln...

It worked for me!

Mookie speaks very highly of you, Willy! It sounds like your reunion was every bit as good as she was anticipating.

If you and your family ever want to come to Chicago, we'll be happy to show you a few trains.

Yes, speaking of silly weather, I was expecting a bit more than a few sprinkles last night. We were supposed to get like an inch of rain, and then the streets in Omaha are perfectly dry this morning.[:0] Now, the forecasters say we may get some rain tonight, and snow on Tuesday. I hope the weather ends up doing what they say it will do.

Willy:

We have plenty of rain here this morning and wind and lightning. I was called to a transmitter at 5 AM due to a lightning strike and this is only Monday. The weather guys always say there is a chance of a storm so they are covered either way it goes. Here a storm can brew in a hour or less and be very ugly, next in line are the tornados; spring is not a fun time for me! [:(]

Have a good one!

I don't believe it.

I keep tolling you and tolling you Lucy that Mookie is an actress, selected by Kalmbach, to support an agenda that there are female railfans, and secretly keeping tabs on us for the gov't.

Willy - we got about 11 drops overnight. But the are predicting snow 1-3 inches, and you just know we will probably get that. Can you do anything for me? [8D]

If you want me to hope for no snow, I don't think I'll be able to do that. Being a kid, wishing for no snow would be the hardest possible thing to do. Maybe I could hope that in Lincoln it does not snow and that in Omaha we do get snow. Still, we need all of the moisture we can get, so if it snows, it's not all bad.

Also, I did e-mail a local meteorologist and he said to not jump to any conclusions, so I'll have to have faith that it will still rain or snow or do something. [:D]

Willy if we get snow - I'm trucking it to your house!

My co-workers are wondering what I am beating the desk about - can't explain Dan even to them!
