Neat story! How about a train that was dispatched and was never seen again. Or, is found on a remote siding, and the crew is gone without a trace.

A refrigeration mechanic and his assistant riding a high railer on an endless tangent in the middle of the night. They're out on yet another service call. Seems a cut of reefers was running out of fuel on a siding after the crew had hogged out on hours, and the train had been sitting for a number of days in the heat. Unfortunately, when a diesel engine runs out of fuel, the fuel system has to be primed for the engine to start, anyhow, it was going to be a long night.

While Jim was sleeping in the passenger seat, the endless stream of ties under the headlights made Rick's mind wander. It had been a busy year, he hadn't been home in months, and was looking foreward to some time off, maybe he'll take a charter boat fishing. He had long ago learned on this job that you never know what to expect when you get to the job site.
