Friday night on the TV News (KNBC) they mentioned that Amtrak had suspended Pacific Surfliner service north of Moorpark again due to mudslides over the rails. This same area was closed by mudslides in early January.

It looks like I will be busy for the next few days.

An update on KNX news radio included an interview with an Amtrak spokeswoman, who said they plan to re-establish service Sunday afternoon (20th). Not as bad as last time!
In searching through other boards, it turns out it was erosion near Somis; the line was undermined where it runs next to a runoff-sollen creek (Arroyo Los Posas).

It is midnight Sunday night, and southern LA county is getting pounded by steady rain. KNX news radio kept running the same tape from the Amtrak spokeswoman. Evidently the Coast line is still closed north of Moorpark.

Anyone planning to ride Metrolink or Amtrak in SoCal on Monday (2/21) advised to call first...

I dug up this nugget of information.

I have not seen any detour trains, however I have not been able to make it out to the tracks much today or yesterday.
