Now if the railroad were ordered to run shorter trains there wouldn't have been a problem huh. The same ten million for the viaduct could have been used for crossing equipment at 100 crossings. 200 crossings if the robber barons didn't overchrge like bandits. Over/under passes aren't really safe either. Theirs always vehicles going over and hitting the pillars on icy or slick roads. If the trains were buried would work a lot better.
