Does anyone know if the Expressway flatcars are in storage or have they been scrapped?
If they're still around, how many are there?
That shows commendable common sense.
I'd add that finding some of the people who ran Expressway would be at least as valuable...
If my source is correct just found out they were scrapped.
You would be one source who would know, but in the other 'Expressway' thread someone mentioned that the service was originated with 'Iron Highway' HPIT-style articulated low-profile flats. To my knowledge it did not run long with that equipment, and what it wound up with was the "usual" sort of long decked flatcars divided into blocks for quicker circus-type loading and unloading, and those should be the cars in question.
If any Iron Highway equipment survived outside preservation, it would be a shame if it were cut up recently. It's nearly as important as the Wickens HSFV as an artifact of modern attempts at better freight service.

Yes the CP cars were the ones cut up. In fact he mentioned they probably bid to low for the cars. He was trying to get them over on Pan Am for a short haul service in Maine.
