Well isn't that the coolest thing? I'm a steam freak myself but I wouldn't mind having one like it!
I want one!!

Scottsdale, Arizona: https://www.therailroadpark.com/ They run steam in the cooler months and an ersatz Diesel in the hotter months.

Oh bay-bee!
Man, those things have some real "Get up and go!" Great pullers too! Thanks!
We rode the train last summer. It is apparently the longest miniature train line in the country with a 2 mile loop. It crosses the San Antonio River (more like a creek up by the headwaters next to the zoo) twice on trestles and goes through a tunnel. Highly recommended.
My question is how did the engineer get in the cab? I do not see any door or opening that is big enough for one.

UP supplied him when they built it. Have to read those job advertisements carefully.
Why am I picturing a guy inside the locomotive on a riding lawn mower?

Let's just hope they don't start using PSR.... Knotts Berry Farm did and this happened..

I heard the shareholders had to be rushed to ICU because the operating ratio doubled after this event...

Has the NTSB started a investigation?
Are the customers starting to revolt against KBF's implementation of PSR? This is not the only incident the popular California theme park has encountered recently with Knott’s Berry Farm shutting down several hours early after multiple fights and violent encounters were reported earlier this month. In response to this, Knott’s Berry Farm introduced a chaperone policy for Guests visiting.

Looks like someone took and MTC G-16 and made it bigger.
When I was growing up, a trip to the Centerville and Southwestern was a highlight of every summer. They had a 4-8-4 Pocono built by Alco (yes, really - second welded boiler in the US), a 2-D-2 "diesel" (acually gasoline) shovel nose and a 0-B-0 switcher used on work trains. The farm hands doubled in brass as the track and bridge and building gang or as ticket agents. Most of the operating personnel were professional railroaders who were taking a "working holiday" from the 12 inches to 1 foot scale. My dad had fired steam for three years after high school to earn money for college. He would walk right up and start discussing the Pocono with the crew while I listened trying to comprehend as much as possible. It was a true miniature railroad, using MCB couplers, Westinghouse airbrakes and operating to a schedule. It looks to me like most of the side of the cab behind the nose is the door. Stop the action at 0:58 and at 1:31. The hinge looks like it's just behind the ladder and you can make out the forward edge of the door. Also, that rectangular thingy near the forward edge looks sorta like a car door style handle.

Those are Purdy enough that I would gladly give up air conditioning to pull throttle on those, especially 1924, the Pacific

How was it used by UP? I just remembered tanker captain training in one of the Naked Gun movies.
