Old TRAINs MAGAZINE archival photo's - would anyone recall "approximate date"

Hi All 

New /old railfan (model railroader) returning after many years of absence.

 

Seeking a fellow 'old timer' with a better memory than me - or at least a stonger date / geography / coverage knowledge to help narrow my search. 

Photo Subject matter: Southern Railway Train (Green White Gold ) under a famous bridge with Norfolk Western and/or perhaps Chessie System / SCL Family Lines passing over. It was an actual reshoot of an old 'steam' era photo from years earier.

I think this 'bridge or tressle passover' is a rather famous spot in the mid south US ( I am Canadian and I had not visited personally and did not know the geography of the shot) 

Years ago Trains published this photo - perhaps a cover photo - though I don't think so as I have searched carefully. 

I think it was a full page color shot (interior)  with the reprint of the old black and white steam shot next page.

I estimate in an issue between 1981 and 1988 - but be darned if I can find this photo 

One I actually cut out of the magazine some 40 years ago ( I was <20) and was always my "Model Railroad" inspirational photo although I did not model NS or CSX as they are called now.

Beat me to it Rick, that's the place!  Richmond's Triple Crossing, traditionally C&O on top, Seaboard next down, and Southern on the bottom.

Still there too, although due to development in the area the photo can't be duplicated nowadays.

The picture you remember is on the inside of the front cover of the October 1983 issue. The title is 'And the 5th time, Jim Boyd created a night shot' and the photo credit is Alex Mayes.

A pair of Southern Railway executive FP7's are at ground level. At the middle level is a Seabord GP40. At the upper level is a Chessie B30-7 leading a GP40-2.
