Good Morning

Happy Fathers Day

Momma and I went down to nephews shop.Saw a westbound on the NKP on the way home.Intersection of US 127 and US 224 north of Van Wert was torn apart.College boy stopped by and we did a couple small projects. We then went to Marion.North Baltimore and Csx was clogged as usual.CSX ran 4 coal trains through Marion.2 on the NYC/Erie and 2 on the C&O. Also explained to some new railfans why North is west and South is east in Marion. When we came home trains were still waiting in Deshler.Mother nature going to warm us up this week.

BaltACD
Sounds like symptoms of CRS.

Yeah - that would be remembering things that happened a year ago as having happened recently...

afternoon

First day of vacation.Csx Mow was out everywhere. Was told they are going to replace boxes, signals and wiring on the CSX side at Fc.Csx ran some trains as well. The ND&W came picked up from Csx then brought some back. The 3001 was pushing the cars into the interchange. Then the ND&W 3054 and Elkhart unit 2045 took a train west across the diamond.Would have followed them further but there was an accident at US 24 and 127 near Cecil.Going to load pictures.

BART (SFBA) had one of its rare sun kinks and 'minor' derailments last night. The route has no grade seps and is often elevated so the passengers got lucky.

It wasn't that far from my doctors office in Pleasant Hill where it has been just over 100F the last three days; the whole East Bay will be at least 90F for the next week. Skins and short weather has arrived ....

A new railcam has gone online in Kingman AZ (BNSF): https://www.youtube.com/c/RailFanArizona  There are also cams in Willcox AZ (UP), Winslow AZ (BNSF), Wilmot (UP, east Tucson) and Tacna AZ (UP). The channel owners intend to complement the many VR channel cams for Southwest US locations.  Gallup NM (BNSF) is coming soon ....  They all need your sponsorship help - please donate if you can.

great instruction.  Have a question .  Is it still true that most vacuum tubes now originate in Russia?  Thinking of Russian products being banned.

That says a few things about the level of Russian technology as a whole.  In the same vein, I remember reading some years back that audiophiles were claiming that recording equipment based on tube technology would reproduce sound in a richer, fuller sense.  I suppose that it would take a pretty sensitive ear to discern the difference.

The daily commute is part of everyday life but I get two rides a day out of it. Paul

Both Cajon/Hesperia cams have been down for two days, dangit.

EDIT: UP Lordsburg sub is temporarily closed due to Amtrak passenger incident just east of Willcox.

Not likely. Visit your nearest Guitar Center or Sam Ash store to inspect the box. One brand originates in SoCal, not sure of where it is made.

As far as superior tonal quality, call me skeptical. The tubes above are advertised for rectifier replacement (interestingly not preamp section). Barring supply chain issues, todays semiconductor component options are impressive compared to my 50 y/o college radio days when we designed and built our own [analog] amplifiers; they were better and cheaper than commercial amps.

EDIT: just recalled that back in the day Russian tech was pretty impressive. When the MIG-25 Foxbat was inspected c.1976 it was found that the radar system was entirely tube based with good performance.

My farther's push pull amp tubes just do not seem to work correctly with claimed matched vacuum tubes.  However the boxes have no country of origin.
