I have added 40-50 more pix to my gallery, and I've captioned almost all of them (I think).
Also, I am using my actual name now.
If any of you folks do look at them and notice any seeming caption errors, please let me know what they are. The captions are very general (I didn't attempt to note the locomotive types, for example, which would be impossible for me anyway), but they do list the location as best I could discern from my records; and the date, or at least the month, or at least the season! A few shots have no dates, but some of that data will eventually be tracked down. (Like I'll find a shot of a guy who was with me on a certain day, then see if that shot is dated. Snore. Or however I can.)
The captioning was as big a grind as I expected. Like about six twelve-hour days. A lot of detective work, and a lot of secretarial work. Really glad that's over.
I hope you guys enjoy the pix.
Still in training.
Dean, (Aka L.O.) I find your posts, travels, career, and photos are great and I get vicarious pleasure reading, and seeing and visualizing what you captured. Thank you.
Thanks, Electroliner! Glad you enjoyed seeing them.
Wow, lots of beautifully composed shots there- you'd be a hit with our local railfan club, which puts on once-a-month on-line picture shows.

Thanks so much, Brian. I appeciate that.
Look for a PM from me.
Oh baby, Dean those shots are wonderful!
It may sound nuts, but I think the ones I liked the best were the ones of the surviving coal towers. Built to last, they've always struck me as "American Pyramids." You know the saying? "Man fears time, time fears the Pyramids!"
All are wonderful! A great railroad travelogue!
Thanks for posting!
Wayne
Thank you, L.O. I enjoyed the way you showed the interaction of trains with people and with mother nature as seen by an artist. Beautiful work.

Thanks so much, Wayne and Paul. I enjoy sharing the pix with other rail buffs. I'm going to try to interest a book publisher in the work, and the comments I've gotten here are quite encouraging. I very much appreciate the kind words.
I love coaling towers and grain elevators!
Lithonia Operator I'm going to try to interest a book publisher in the work, and the comments I've gotten here are quite encouraging
I'll tell you man, you put the book out and I'll buy it!
Thanks again, Wayne! I'm flattered.
BTW, I didn't get rid of the b/w shots, I just moved them to a separate gallery.
The B&W shots are great too, with a timeless quality about them!
I especially like the ones taken in the mist, snow, and fog. Almost like you're looking at ghosts.
Thanks, man.
