I did not even know this was under construction. So these new lines are roughly along the Persian Gulf and reach into the country but again do not seem to cross the borders to the West into Jordan, Syria or other countries. Though it looks like in Saudi Arabia at least one line comes pretty close to the Western border. Locomotives look like American made models. Being built to a 125 mph rail passenger service compatible which is also impressive. Here is the link....

Here's some news, haboobs don't create drifts of a hundreds of feet and a significant part of Saudi Arabia is either rock or solid earth,arid, but not an endless sea of sand - smart line location and engineering gives the track a solid base
