Several weeks ago I got an email telling me that Trains Mag. is now available to read online. It mentioned an app where I could read it. Unfortunately, I can't locate that email to see what app I need.
Any help would be appreciated.

With an on-line resource, I could clean out a significant number of magazines (going back to the 1970's) from my spare bedroom/stacks. I've considered it.

I'll second that. I like to read the magazine in its paper form.
However, since I also got the online version, I like it, too. I use a large screen laptop, and I like the fact that I can zoom in on photos.

I never recieved my April hard copy, only the link to the electronic copy on Zinio (of which I was given free access). Does that mean the hard copy is going away? My 91 year old uncle didn't get his hard copy either and he's not online...

You will be able to access archives of Trains (presumably up to 'last month's issue' on a rolling basis) for $2.99 a month. You can do that with Model Railroader, too, but that's another $2.99. For an extra buck a month (ignoring TVM) you could get 'everything but the magazine subscription' with the Unlimited membership...

No, you will still get your hard copy. Kalmbach is not to blame for the late deliveries. I got my copy last week. Blame the post office for the late deliveries.
In a few short years everything will be online as printed material becomes more expensive to produce and distribute. I'm surprised it hasn't happened already.

Most of us are in an older group of readers. As we die off, paper communications will become less and less.
My children are all in their 30s, and they don't subscribe to paper anything.

A "tablet" seems to me to be best suited to e-zine reading. Portable, easy to manipulate, yet big enough to get the whole page without continual scrolling.
