Oh. Em. Gee.  Whodathunkit?

Just be glad you're not in Binghampton.  You'd be writing from underneath four feet of snow...

This post fulfills the modern requirement of registering our disgust upon the internet immediately.

Well now I'm kinda disappointed. If the system didn't go down, I've got no reson to go around sulking all day.

If the system didn't go down, I've got no reason to go around sulking all day.

Relax -- it went down repeatedly, and in interesting ways, for me, so the warning was appropriate and accurate from my perspective.  Anything that might keep me from being the lucky customer and seeing that damn confetti or being told my phone has 31 viruses is pretty much worth it for one day's disturbance.

And they told us in advance this time -- something they deserve to be praised for, considering past IT history...

You're just a tad bit early registering your unhappiness for the next server clusterfluff.

Mudchicken Nothing is worth taking the risk of losing a life over. Come home tonight in the same condition that you left home this morning in. Safety begins with ME.... cinscocom-west

Can't prove it by me - from mid-morning yesterday, whenever I tried to post I would get '403 Forbidden'

A little north, looks like Fairport missed out on some of the white stuff. Too bad the CSX detector (heard on the webcam) doesn't report wind speed or temp ....

This storm was a so called Noreaster - a low pressure cell moving up the Atlantic seaboard and using the Atlantic as its source of moisture - the predominate direction of the winds are from the North East.

Fairport gets dumped on when the storm comes down from Canada and gets its moisture from the unfrozen Great Lakes.
