News Wire pages have more than one article. You cannot tell by looking at the Headline on the home page -- so you must follow every headline. Why is this done. Please create a headline for each article in the news wire. Thanks.
Since we are making suggestions, it would be nice if the comments made under the Newswire article were linked to the comments made under the same article posted in the forum. As it is there are two separate sets of comments to many articles.
Not a real answer to your question, but anytime you see the word "Digest" in front of an article's name, you can count on it having more than one news item. I don't know why they changed to this form, and I wish they hadn't, but that's the "key".As to Matthew's comment, I don't think the Forum is required reading for staff members. Too bad...

Why do my comments on News Wire articles never appear? After submitting them it says they will appear shortly, but they don't.
The "Digest" pages contain a number of shorter articles that would be cumbersom if each had their own page. It would be like insisting every article in a newspaper have its own page.
Creating a page for every artcle, no matter the size, would just result in the smaller articles being left out. I don't think they should curtail content just because you find it inconvenient.
Several other websites that I frequent use the digest format for shorter articles and commentary. I have no problem with the format and occasionally stumble onto something that I might have otherwise missed.
But the headline could easily cover the articles: "Digest: BNSF crossings vandalized; DC Metro Cuts, Via Ridership". Or just make the headline " Digest". Headlines tell you what is in the article -- not just 1/3rd of the articles.
