Just like how Oceana has always been at war with Eastasia.

I think I saw a movie about that conflict in my supervisory classes, but the countries involved were Freedonia and Sylvania .... Confused

I knew that sounded familiar, but I read that a long time ago...

Lol... didja see this new Trains news item:

UP temporarily activates idled eastbound hump in North Platte, Neb.

"We’ve temporarily backed off having the one hump closed at North Platte as we’re doing a little bit of capital work that we think is going to enable us to handle things more efficiently,” Chief Financial Officer Jennifer Hamann told an investor webcast on Tuesday. “We were starting to see some of the dwell increase and some of the service product suffer a little bit, and we didn’t want to have that flow through to the customer base.”

The key part of that whole thing is "told an investor webcast." Clearly this whole thing is a charade to impress Wall Street and has virtually nothing to do with running a railroad in a manner that best serves the customers.
