Domestic freight news

Appears that international intermodal traffic on the west coast will spike up soon.  Lots of new traffic from China is in the pipeline.

Thanks, for posting that article, Blue Streak1 !            Sort of helps to explain, maybe, some of the traffic that has been rolling by this area.

The one thing that has been missing since end of this Feburary has been automotive carriers.     Then, the other day we had a couple of solid trains of auto carriers go through. Unusual, since no solid trrains of auto racks have passed by here between March and June.    Now there have been five since tuesday of this week.

The news during the previous part of the pandemic, had reported that the auto sales were really off; and inventories were way over what the industry expected.      So I guess now that some areas are getting back to 'normal' import auto sales may be getting back on track?   Might also be due also to low interest rates?

Crazy! A couple of real estate agents told my wife that they have been selling houses faster than they had ever expected to be selling them...And Spirit Aero Systems here [major supplier of 737's parts] has just announced that they are furloughing another 900 people; on top of the 4,000 laid off earlier this year.
