Hey Chad!  It's been pretty quiet here on the forums, and as usual I lurk more than I post.

Still here, Chad!  Welcome back!

I thought you took care of the popcorn.

Sadly, we've lost two of our best forum people, with both Mookie and Ed Blysard passing away.

The arguments don't get as heated as they used to...the trolls are usually quickly outed and ignored.

I find much less of interest than I used to...perhaps there really is nothing new under the sun.

Stick around for a while!

And if your travels ever bring you to Chicago, we'll paint the town whatever paint scheme you're most interested in!

Hi Brian

Hi Carl

glad to see you both still around. CoolThumbs Up

So sorry to hear Jen & Ed are gone. That's a bummer. I'll miss them around here, they both were heavy (& valuable) contributers to this place for well over a decade.Sad

It does seem a bit quiet around here, mabee we need a troll or two for entertainment value. Smile, Wink & Grin

Quiet as heck in your old stomping grounds down here, except that they finally built the two new bridges over the San Diego River and now have them both open north of Old Town. Next to the newer bridge they are still building the new bridge (2 tracks) for the trolley route out to UCSD, with some interesting whoop-de-do building in the UTC area for the new line also going on. You can see some of the progress from a couple of years ago on Google Earth.

Hi MS, Good to see you're still around too.

I've been all over the grid the last few years. I think the last time we talked I wasn't too far from you down in Norfolk, Ne.  I spent that spring/summer working in a bunch of towns in the northeastern cornhusker area Cowboy (too bad I missed the Cowboy line by a couple of decadesSigh).

Then it was down to a project in Biloxi, Ms. for almost a year living in a condo on the gulf coast beach Paradise That was nice Paradise

Then off to the Right Coast for 9 months in the Baltimore / Washington DC area with a couple short stints in Dover,De and Manassas, Va.  That was certainly an adventure for this left coaster!Smile, Wink & Grin Railfanning back there is a different world. But seeing the northeast corridor in action was worth it Thumbs Up

Then a couple months in Memphis, Tn.. After that I came back out to California to work on a project for my old boss in the town of Coalinga.

Unfortunatly I had some serious health problems almost a year ago and have not worked since. I've been holed up here in Alturas, Ca. I've been looking for work for the last 5 months but it's been hard because health limitations.Crying

But I have spent some time doing some writing lately hoping to get some article submissions in the magazine. I hope that pays off Whistling.  We'll see Smile, Wink & Grin

Hi, Chad.  Glad you finally got to see the NE Corridor.  It's impressive even nowadays.  Wish I could have seen it in the days of PRR, with heavy passenger and freight traffic flying by.  When we lived in MD 1992-1997 occasionally I was trackside when a single E60 thundered by dragging a train that seemed to take an hour to pass a given point.  Glad you're back.

Hey SALfan , the NEC was intence. The trains passed by faster then I could grab the camera.Huh?. It was a good eye opener for a left coaster thoughBow
