AH Door County, I miss it so. I could go for an Alby Burger (The Albatross, Washington Island, where the term North of the Tension Line was invented.) Having said that, WTF is going on in this thread? I really wish that people that don't live in California would keep their theories and bad information to themselves. I'll let you know if I ever get fined for water use. Prediction? It won't happen.

The comet theory is interesting - and completely believable.

It's not surprising that no pieces of the comet have been found - comets are mostly frozen material.  What did survive would be indistinguishable from the thousands of space rocks that have made it to earth since.  And considering the devastation, picking out some BB sized remnants would be impossible.

But it still doesn't have the cachet of the story of Mrs Leary's cow.
