Murphy SidingAberdeen SD where my wife is from is as flat as a pancake. The city landfill is about 5 miles out of town. You can see the trash pile and the dirt pile used to cover the trash for miles.
South Florida is as flat as a crape - the highest things around are the trash mountains - that I suspect are 300 - 400 feet high adjacent to I-95 and the Florida Turnpike

Generally, you put a major airport in an obstacle free zone. Then again, Denver city and county government is known for being a little flighty.
