All Time KSW & CKR Engine Roster
Posted by SFbrkmn on Monday, February 12, 2018 5:13 PM

I am in need of an all-time locomotve roster of former shortline railroads Kansas Southwestern and Central Kansas Railways which operated in the Wichita area 1991-2001. Anyone with any leads or tips, the help would be great. This is for a book that is being done on the history of both carriers.

Join the LocoNotes group (was on Yahoo, but has just switched to groups.io) and ask this specific question there.

What you're telling me is correct information of the subject can be obtained from this Yahoo group? I just don't want to take the time getting in there and not finding what I am in need of. It is a waste of time.

Watching from the sidelines with some interest. Not sure what you are going to get for an answer, given the wonky corporate behaviour of each regime at OmniTrax and the locomotive shops at Wichita and Loveland through each of those regimes and the cut-throat empire building behavior of each.

Tried looking at X2200S? They were there through the OmniTrax - WATCO swap in 2001 until they collapsed in 2008. Dick Will and the Dovers recordkeeping was obsessively detailed until they bowed-out to the Blaine WA bunch. Even they could not keep up with the trading of power between the railroads inside OmniTrax as regimes came and went. When they decided they wanted into the leasing business to compete with the Relcos, GATX, etc. of the world, the dregs went to the shortlines while the better units went off line (until they failed and the red watercolors started to fade on the CKRY stuff) .....

Mudchicken Nothing is worth taking the risk of losing a life over. Come home tonight in the same condition that you left home this morning in. Safety begins with ME.... cinscocom-west
