Too many repetitive books on the subject, but few videos, I think.  Perhaps because there's nothing left of the original venture that moves, beyond the National Park Service replica trains at the Promontory Summit.  So any video will likely be of mostly static subjects, and hence could be pretty dull.  How to bring this to life? "There is more true poetry in the rush of a single railroad train across the continent than in all that gory story of burning Troy." - Joaqiun Miller, 1909.
