Does anyone know of a long gone new mexico railroad called the new mexican railroad? All i know of it is it was in business from 1882 to 1899, and was succeeded by the santa fe. anyone know where this shortline was when it came to serving cities?
The New Mexico Railroad Company was incorporated in New Mexico Jan. 16, 1882. It was sold to on Feb, 15 1899 to the AT&SF RWY CO.
Its tracks were : Dillon to Dillon Canyon (near Raton) 3.47nmiles; San Antonio to Carthage 9.64 miiles; Las Vegas to Hot Springs 9.02 miles and Socorro to Magdelena 27.34 miles.
Not to be confused with the New Mexico Central RR.
