I think this might be part of the Norfolk & Western line that came into Cincinnati from Portsmouth.

It is and it's in railbanking (NITU/CITU) negotiations with the City of Cincinnati since last year.

After the Norwood Bulk Terminal closed in September 2009, the line has been dormant. I can remember as a kid that piece of railroad being very busy before the N&W - SOU merger in the 60's and 70's.

NS will pick up the rail if the City actually ponies up the cash and buys the thing - It's in their court now. ... and they had best stay on it, they don't want the next stupid CSX Delphi Indiana mess and there is a concerted move brewing out there to put a time limit on NITU/CITU negotiations in the statute.

I thought they started removing the rail this spring? and the city had anounced it had the funding to purchase the line in 2016. There is the possibility that Cincinnati bought the line without NITU/CITU conditions, but that is an unusually rare event with abandonments. Another chunk of this line is now a shortline, Cincinnati Terminal Railway a little further east.

The line basicaly parrels Wasson Way or is street running. Seems a good candidate for a Cincy Streetcar.

You mean to tell that a busy NS mainline ran in and around peoples houses and down a main street?

Methins you got it backward. Norfolk Southern predecessor Cincinnati & Eastern predates Wasson Road by quite a bit.  C&E started as narrow gauge Cincinnati, Batavia and Williamsburg Railroad in January 1876. Wasson Rd didn't appear for another 20 years as the burbs for growing industrial Cincinnati. the main drag for over there was Madison Road. (Madison Pike / Madisonville Rd.) Wasson was originally Pallas Street east of Paxton ave..

All of this nonsense is just history repeating itself. The railroad early on was a glorified commuter line to the burbs. The city politicians still talk in terms of "choo choo", so their credibility on transportation planning is not much.
