Many years ago I was driving through Indiana and was passed by a train carrying what looked like aircraft wing tanks. What would they be used for?
Anymore detail? Approximate location and date would help narrow down the rail line in question and by inferrance, the load.
As an aside, there are several military bases in the area that might actually receive airplane drop tanks for testing.
