Now you can explore Chicago like an expert with Trains Magazine’s new Chicago Railroads mobile app. The app includes Amtrak stations, locomotive displays, hobby shops, train-watching hot spots, and other railroad-related attractions. "This should be a valuable reference tool for anyone in Chicago," says Trains Associate Editor David Lassen, who oversaw production of the Chicago special issue and DVD. "Like our earlier Colorado app, it continues our efforts to help railfans get the most out of their visits to railroading hot spots." The hot spots listings include perennial favorites as Blue Island, Dolton, Franklin Park, Homewood, Naperville, Roosevelt Road, and West Chicago, as well as new additions like Bellwood, Lombard, Matteson, and Oak Park. This is Trains’ second mobile app, following the 2016 release of Colorado Railroads. The Chicago Railroads mobile app is available on Apple iOS and Android. Be sure to check out the companion issue and DVD, both available now.
