Question What is going on  across from the hotel ?? Lots of machinery and people wandering about.

Which tracks?  Which hotel?  There are a lot of rail cams...

There has been a 5th track added to the area and a new AMTRAK depot is being built.  They tore out 99% of the "Railwalk" and all the artifacts in this process... I hope they can put most of that back when the construction is completed.

There are several OLD threads about this if you really want to hunt for them!  I went looking and finally found the original thread about the railcam...

 

It was last added to almost 1 year ago... the entry is back 64 pages!

Apparently, he is referring to the Roanoke camera.
