The 60 footers can only be used on day cabs.

53' standard works well for most IMCs and RRs because they can capture extremely dense per piece loads and extremely light per piece (the opposite), so one size fits all. Maintaing a fleet of 48' for certain customers and 53' for others presents equipment cycling issues -- best thing to do is have one size. One of the biggest problems with the ocean guys right now (who are losing money hand over fist) is they offer multiple equipment sizes, thus their equipment turnover cycles are highly inefficient. They basically let 20' containers pile up on yards MT until they have enough where they need to move 'em. Also, a 40ft standard and a 40HC makes no sense, you should just have all HC boxes. Back to domestic, for a standardized fleet, the load pattern of course needs to be closely monitored, but most of the big IMCs will teach the shipper if they are struggling on proper load patterns to best disribute weight.

For this CT example, it's a one-off since they own their own equipment. I doubt highly many people will flock to the 60', especially when most IMCs just invested a lot of $$ in their own chassis fleets (JBHI and SNI)
