Construction in Roanoke
Posted by tcwright973 on Wednesday, March 29, 2017 11:24 AM

Does anyone know what all the construction activity is about in Roanoke. I've been watching some of it on the Roanoke rail cam, but have no idea what they are doing.

They certainly have made a mess of the "Railwalk" displays on the south side of the tracks (between the VMT and the O. Winston Link and depot area)!  I wonder if it is Railroad, City, or Museum related?  I can't tell yet.

Could it be platform work in the area of a new passenger station, for expansion of Amtrak service south from Lynchburg?
