Sam: If you folks would quit burning them out of their natural habitat, they'd still be around your part of the prairie. Ever been to the Buckhorn Exchange in Denver? - They have a few in residence, on the red felt walls. Assume Baretta's closed after the Jackelopes started shooting back (they do that)...
ps- Solved the crisis on the Coffeyville Belt only to get hit with a new one at Pittsburg. (think the McDonald's at Broadway & Quincy...My old employer did it again!)

Those Jackalopes! You have to be really careful,when hunting 'em. Horny little buggars! Need to approach with caution, and be armed...Never know when they will turn, and attack! Or one could wind up on the horns of a delimma.
Understand about the Mickey D's in Pittsburg, they were my lunch stop when I was a student at Pitt S. My bride and I got a chance to ride that line from Pittsburg to Cherokee some years back... Train was pulled by SP #745, and our train was the Passenger Equip( unpowered RDC's, furnished by Heart of the Heartlands RR Club& Museum). SP#745 took us to Cherokee, and WATCO #10 pulled us back to Pittsburg. ( That was done as part of LASTA's 2004 KC Trip frorm La.)
In fact, we are planning to ride the WATCO excursion this coming Apr 22,'17 on Former MP trackage. [Won't be fast, but the' grands' will have a ball ! ] Power? No idea, but it will probably be one of WATCO's 'Hornets'
A person could start a business with a van and call it Jackalope tours. Drive around in western states in search of this elusive animal. Just make sure the contract specifies that there is no guarantee of seeing a Jackalope.

While possible, the chances are probably pretty much zero.
One of these days, I'm going to get one of those plywood sillouette mooses and put it out in the woods, well back from the tracks....
