UP RR to get another Sand Mine?

If this goes through the 10 mile spur would be built from the former C&NW Adams Line in Western Wisconsin.     Surprised that CP did not get in on the action but then again CP doesn't seem to be interested in expanding business in Wisconsin as much as CN, UP and W&S.

Considering the environmental issues, it's going to be a long time before the plant gets built, if ever.  Also, it's not too surprising that CP woudn't be interested in this particular traffic since they seem to have little to no trackage on the proposed route of the frac sand.

The daily commute is part of everyday life but I get two rides a day out of it. Paul

Considering the environmental issues

Not so much, Western Wisconsin folks care more about business.   The last politician that attempted to block BNSF from double tracking through La Crosse via wetlands argument didn't get very far and BNSF barely had to threaten a lawsuit to get it's way.    Wisconsin wetlands regulations are that if you destroy or use up wetlands in one area of the state you have to restore the same amount in another part of the state where the wetlands were previously lost.......not a big deal for a mining company financially.     So high probability this will go through, they will work out a deal with the Native Americans as well because the amount of land they want is relatively tiny and it's really not in a sensitive area for the Native Americans..........they are just in financial shakedown phase and want money.

The Liberals in Madison will howl like rabid wolves but nobody will listen to them outside of Dane County as per usual practice.
