Rochelle - BNSF dispatcher is having a cow...
Posted by CatFoodFlambe on Monday, December 5, 2016 3:50 PM

3:46 pm CDT 12/5 - The radio feed is getting interesting - a UP eastbound IM has had the south track blocked at Rochelle for well over an hour - several back and forth movments has me wondering if they're having trouble pulling several tracks worth of cars from GlobalIII.     At least four BNSF jobs are halted waiting to make the crossing.

3:58 CST--It's clear now; an eastbound UP train just went past, and there is no other train in sight.

The BNSF DS must be much happier now.

As a Dispatcher - no sense getting upset about events you have no control of.

Just try to plan out your moves for when you achieve control again.

Inasmuch as the double track at Rochelle is little more than a long passing siding for BNSF (about 9 miles?), I think I understand his pain.  It wouldn't take too many trains to start tying up single track.

If he was good at his revenge he might have backed up the UP all the way to Global 2 and plugged up the Geneva Subdivision.
