Train ad on radio
Posted by zardoz on Wednesday, December 8, 2004 5:54 AM
On the way to work this morning, I heard an 30-second ad on WTMJ (AM620) radio for the Amtrak Hiawatha service from Milwaukee to Chicago.

The ad mentioned the advantages of riding the rails, such as downtown-to-downtown service, no traffic delays, time to work or nap or eat, seven round-trips daily, as well as the new Amtrak station that just opened at Milwaukee's Mitchell International Airport.

The ad was sponsored by the Wisconsin Department of Transportation.

<Congress>NO! NO! Don't advertise!!! People might actually RIDE! Then we'd have to support the service!!!!
