Muzac on the Bus and Train good idea or bad idea?

Today I got on a bus in South Portland ME and the driver was playing oldies on the radio. Kinda got into the groove...So what do you guys feel about tunes being piped in on the light rail or bus? I know Pittsburgh pipes in Classical music in on there subways and airports. There could be a WSUB radio station just for the subway were Transit agencys could sell ads on for a captive audiance to raise money

Sorry. We already have to deal with the dangers of electricity. Given the strong evidence that certain kinds of music causes severe brain damage, piped in music on public transit would have me going back to my car.

One man's trash is anothers' treasure. Most people ignore Muzak anyhow, unless you're in an elevator. Turn it up loud enough to hear, and people complain that it's too loud.

You may have been grooving on the oldies (I would have been). Safe bet someone else was wishing he'd shut the darned stuff off.

Ride of the Valkyrie on a train some how seems right.

Since there's such a variety of inexpensive portable audio equipment that works with headphones why not just let those of us who want music to bring our own? But don't listen too carefully, you might miss an important announcement on the PA system.
