Looks like Depp's "Lone Ranger" meets a lighter version of "The Railway Man."

"Lone Ranger?" I don't know, it looks like Jackie versus the Japanese.
I feel sorry for those Japanese, don't you? They don't know what they're in for!
I was referring to the look and feel of Depp's "Lone Ranger" movie (stunts, action, comedy), not the character himself.

I thought it seemed to land somewhere between " Emperor of the North" [action scenes on the train] and maybe, " Bridge on the River Kwai" ?
It looks like they are using an SY class light mikado. These date from the 1960s but are very similar to Japanese built locomotives from the mid to late 1930s known as Mika 3 or or Mika 6 at different times on different railways. Even the slope-back tender is correct.
The passenger car interior looks pretty good for Japanese occupation era vehicles.
I look forward to the movie, hopefully with subtitles or an English soundtrack.
