OK,

Despite the fact that I was informed this afternoon that I have a rather large ($3,000) medical bill coming up, I'm going to spring for this ebook at $31.49. (I've got great insurance, but they won't pay beyond the basic cataract surgery. I'm not going to go cheap with my eyes.)

I once had lunch with one of the authors. Robert E. Gallomore was head of the Northwestern University Transportation Center when I broke bread with him. A friend of mine, the late Doug Hagestad, was an adjunct professor with the TC. He set up the lunch. Gallamore was a former Union Pacific VP and Doug was a former ICG VP. Gallamore is a PhD economist. Little ole me was just there. All three of us turned out to be big baseball fans. Gallamore favored the Red Sox, Doug routed for the Cubs. Me, I've always pulled for the White Sox.

So we talked about railroading and baseball. It cannot get more interesting.

Here's the ebook synopsis. Some of you may want to look in to it. Click on "Look Inside".

http://www.amazon.com/American-Railroads-Robert-E-Gallamore-ebook/dp/B00KYL2PC6/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1405039832&sr=1-1&keywords=American+Railroads%2C+Decline+and+Renaissance+in+the+20th+Century
Me too! I put it on my Kindle wish list as soon as I saw it. I am pleased to learn that it is being endorsed by you. At $31.95 it is not like the pot boilers I get for $2.99, but I am sure it will be worth the money.
