Saw a SOO line locomotive 6008 in a NS Consist that had a narrow Black line through the SOO identification, I have also seen this on Two UP loco' that Illinois Rail Net uses. The reporting marks are not lined through and no new reporting marks are visiable. Is this allowed to save making new reporting marks ?
The SOO SD60's were sold to CIT Financial (CEFX/CITX) some time back. There may be a small CEFX reporting mark on the cab under the number.
Standard AAR Mechanical inventory procedure ... Soo doesn't own it anymore. Broad hint to look at the blue card in the cab. Start looking for the new UMLER initials there somewhere.
If you're interested, in addition to what's said, it's there on a NS train because they're leasing it.
They have 19 of these former Soo units on lease at the moment with 13 of them still in their former Soo colors.
I caught one of those running light through downtown Seattle this summer. It looked quite lost.
