Sumpin wrong with the "Film Crew Death" thread?
Posted by Semper Vaporo on Thursday, December 24, 2015 12:20 PM

When I click the link on the forum main page that takes me to the last posting of the thread (the line below the Title) I get the following message:

----------------------------

Sorry, there was a problem with your last request!

Either the site is offline or an unhandled error occurred. We apologize and have logged the error. Please try your request again or if you know who your site administrator is let them know too.

-----------------------------

If I click the Title link instead, I get the 1st page and then I can click 'Last' at the bottom of that page and I then get page 8 and it loads correctly.

I have also noticed that some Titles sometimes get trucated in the main page list.  This started a few weeks ago when someone started changing the title of their post often.

I usually remember the Titles that I have decided to not read anymore (too much bickering in them) and when Titles get truncated I don't recognize them so I open them and thus get subjected to said bickering when I'd just as soon never see them again.  I can never tell if the title changed because the OP did so, or because the system screwed up again.

I had no problems with the thread, looks like the IT dept cleared up the problem. Guess there were some deleted posts on that thread.

Just did it again for me.  Still broke as far as I can tell... maybe I'll log out and clear my data cache and try again.

Didn't help... still get the error message.

If I click the "Order Ascending" tab, it goes to page 1 and then I can click the 'Last' link and it loads the latest page without a problem.

When replies are deleted, the reply count that we see is reduced, but the record that is seen by whatever part of the program generates the pages is unchanged, so it generates a new page when there is nothing in it.  If you go to the first page in the thread, then click on last page, it will go to the actual last page of replies.   Once enough new entries are made to have something to put in the new page, it will work OK until the next page.

This had to do with the removal of a user and their related posts.

There is a thread about this in the Transit section.
