Does anyone recall the cover date of the issue of TRAINS that had the short essay on a crew's last run on a Pennsy T1?

Thanks, AANDR

Try searching the Index of Magazines (link at the top of the page). Should hook you up.

I don't remember the date of the issue, but the story is by the late John Crosby. Crosby wrote some of the best stuff ever published in the magazine, and if you like the T1 story you might want to go through the index and find other stuff he wrote.

He had a story back in 1975 about firing the second of doubleheaded K4 Pacifics on the Broadway Limited from Chicago to Fort Wayne that is absolutely priceless.
